How Carl Suchy & Söhne Captures Vienna’s Luxury and Swiss Precision
Discover Vienna's elegance with Carl Suchy & Söhne, where imperial heritage and Swiss precision create masterpieces for modern collectors.

Carl Suchy & Söhne stands as a beacon of Viennese elegance and Swiss watchmaking expertise. Founded in 1822, this illustrious brand has captured the essence of Vienna's imperial charm, once favoured by figures like Emperor Franz Joseph and Sigmund Freud.
After a century-long hiatus following the collapse of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, the brand made a triumphant return in 2017, reimagining its legacy with the Waltz N°1.

The Waltz N°1 is a perfect fusion of Viennese minimalism and Swiss craftsmanship. Inspired by the modernist ideals of architect Adolf Loos, its design embodies understated elegance, with its pure lines and classic guilloché dial.

At its heart beats the ultra-thin VMF 5401 Swiss-made automatic movement, crafted by Vaucher Manufacture Fleurier and refined by renowned Swiss watchmaker Marc Jenni.

This precision mechanism powers a rotating second disc, symbolising the grace of a Viennese waltz, aligning every minute with the dial's delicate pattern.
The signature "waltzing disk" at 6 o’clock, a poetic nod to the city’s ballroom grandeur, aligns its guilloché pattern with the dial every minute; a dance of mechanics and artistry.
Carl Suchy & Söhne not only revives a storied past but also celebrates the rich cultural tapestry of Vienna. The brand honours an era when time was measured in moments of artistic and intellectual effervescence, with a design that is as timeless as the city itself.
