Archer and United Airlines to Launch NYC Air Taxi Network
Archer and United unveil plans for a sleek NYC air taxi network, cutting airport travel times to minutes with all-electric aircraft.

Archer Aviation, in partnership with United Airlines, has announced plans to debut an electric air taxi service in New York City, offering a faster, more refined way to navigate the region.

Using Archer’s cutting-edge Midnight aircraft, passengers will be able to travel between Manhattan and nearby airports in just 5 to 15 minutes, sidestepping the city’s infamous traffic with style and efficiency.
The Midnight is a piloted, all-electric aircraft designed to carry up to four passengers with minimal noise and zero emissions. Built with safety and performance in mind, it’s being manufactured in California and Georgia.

Archer’s vision includes developing vertiports at existing aviation hubs, working with infrastructure partners such as Signature Aviation, Skyports, and Atlantic Aviation.
The initiative follows successful announcements of air mobility networks in San Francisco and Los Angeles.

With FAA certification underway and strong support from city and state stakeholders, including the Port Authority and NYCEDC, this initiative marks a transformative step toward sustainable, next-generation urban travel.
United Airlines, an early investor, has already committed to a fleet of Midnight aircraft, underscoring its commitment to innovation in air travel.
