75 Years of Porsche Heritage in Zuffenhausen
Celebrating 75 years of Porsche in Zuffenhausen, where tradition meets innovation in a legacy of exceptional craftsmanship and performance.

On April 6, 1950, the first Porsche 356 made its debut at the Zuffenhausen production line, marking the beginning of an unparalleled automotive legacy.
Seventy-five years later, this iconic site remains the heart of Porsche’s production; a place where precision engineering meets the artistry of exquisite craftsmanship.

Porsche's journey began in 1938 as a design and engineering consultancy, but it was only after the Second World War that the brand’s distinctive cars came to life.
The 356 ‘No.1’ Roadster, completed in 1948 in Austria, set the stage for the models that would soon be built in Stuttgart.
By the end of 1950, 317 Porsche 356s had been produced, establishing the foundation for a brand that would forever redefine high-performance driving.

The arrival of the 911 in 1964 solidified Zuffenhausen’s position as the beating heart of Porsche.
The production facility evolved, introducing flexible assembly lines capable of producing a variety of variants, a practice that continues today.
Over the decades, Porsche's growth has been relentless. Expanding production capabilities, cutting-edge technologies, and a commitment to excellence have ensured Porsche’s leadership in performance engineering.

As the 21st century dawned, Zuffenhausen embraced a new era of technological innovation.
With the launch of the Taycan in 2019, Porsche stepped boldly into the realm of electrification.

Today, this legendary facility produces the full range of 911 models, as well as the all-electric Taycan, with engines and electric drivetrains meticulously crafted in-house.
In tandem with Porsche’s evolution, Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur continues to offer bespoke creations, tailored to the most discerning clientele.

As Porsche celebrates 75 years in Zuffenhausen, it honors its storied past while looking toward a future where tradition and innovation converge in perfect harmony.
